Isolation Journal Prompt #6:

The blues of the sea are all around me. I see the soft blue of the waves, the lighter blue of the sky, and the foamy pale blue of the waves. I hear the sound of the waves gently hitting the light brown sand and I see loved ones laughing and running on the shore. There’s a mom in 60’s haircut and young toddlers running and racing.

As I watch, the scene morphs into a trip my daughter and I took to Tybee Island about 15 years ago. It was her very first time seeing the ocean and her happiness was palpable. I watched as she laughed and played and I felt her joy. That was a good day as we laughed and played on the beach and then drove back to her hotel. There was nothing grand or fancy, just the water, the sun, and love.

As I watch the movie play in my head, I’m taken back further to when I was a child

And that’s what is important in this world, love and joy. There is being present in the moment for the people that you love.
