Isolation Journal Prompt #5: View from My Window

I work from home most of the time and my beloved office is filled with pictures of goddesses and strong women, my desk is strewn with crystals, and the view from my window is interrupted by the Buddhas and crow paintings on my window sill. Outside my window is a Japanese maple that may be planted a little too close to the house. Its leaves are currently green and song birds flitter in and out of its branches.

It sits in a patch of lawn boarding our sidewalk and Sean and Cam have recently decorated the small garden patch with glass flamingos and Halloween lights. I never open the window so I don’t know what the smells outside my window are like on any given day, but I do hear the sounds of traffic and every so often someone will be playing their music a little too loudly.

The dog across the street, who is often left out, occasionally barks and we often have deer moseying through the hard intent on finding the next munchy bit of grass and occasionally we will have people wandering by on the sidewalk
